Facial cosmetic surgery ~ Nelson, New Zealand

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Cosmetic eyelid surgery, called blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. People come to the Olive Institute seeking eyelid surgery mainly for cosmetic reasons, as droopy eyelids can add years to your appearance. Blepharoplasty is also used to correct a more serious issue with severe sagging of the upper eyelids causing impairment of your vision.

What's Involved In Eyelid Surgery?

Blepharoplasty removes the excess skin and sometimes, fat and muscle from upper and/or lower lids, tightening the delicate skin around the eye. Aesthetically, eyelid surgery removes loose skin and bags around the eyes that make you look worn and tired. This results in a refreshed appearance, with a younger, firmer eye area.

Although blepharoplasty is often performed as a single operation, it may also be performed in conjunction with a browlift, facelift, or skin resurfacing to achieve better results.

Surgical Consultaton For Blepharoplasty

The pre-surgical consultations will allow us to make a thorough assessment of your anatomy and your desires from the surgery. The procedure, peri- and post-operative expectations will be explained, along with the risks of potential complications.
